Privacy Policy — Hours
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Hours ("the extension") helps you see prices in terms of the hours you work. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.
Information you provide
To function, the extension asks you to enter an hourly wage or salary. You may optionally add a first name, a pet name, a typical phone-call length, and an expected investment return rate to personalize the hover breakdown. These settings are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and, if you are signed into Chrome, may sync across your own devices through your Google account. We never receive, see, or have access to these values.
Information the extension reads
To place hour tags next to prices, the extension reads the visible text of the pages you view in order to detect price patterns. This happens entirely within your browser. Page content and detected prices are used only momentarily to display tags and are not stored, logged, or transmitted anywhere.
Data we collect
None. The extension has no servers and no analytics. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information, browsing history, page content, or usage data. No data leaves your device, except your own settings syncing through your Chrome profile, which we cannot access.
Permissions
The storage permission saves your settings so you don't re-enter them. The broad host match lets the extension detect prices on any site you visit. Neither is used for tracking.
Third parties
We do not use third-party services, trackers, or advertising, and we do not transfer data to third parties for any purpose.
Children
The extension is not directed to children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
